This thirteenth print depicts Schoenberg’s gravestone in the Wiener Zentralfriedhof, which is appropriate in several (certainly morbid) ways. Schoenberg had triskaidekaphobia, a mortal fear of the number 13, and so he was afraid that he would die during a year that was a multiple of that number. Although this did not occur, he did die on Friday the 13th, 1951, at 76 (an age which an astrologer had apparently warned him about, as 7+6=13).
